A Whiner Is Never A Winner!: 5 Examples

While an individual in an actual or potential position of leadership may opt to either whine, or seek to win, it seems that far more individuals choose the first course, than the latter! The reality is that it takes little effort, thought, or talent, to merely whine about what you say, should be, even though doing so, rarely achieves any positive, meaningful objectives, priorities, or, even, changes. We should all take to heard the adage, which states, The loser is always a part of the problem. The winner is always a part of the solution. Those whiners create the self-fulfilling prophesy, of being little more than noisy, often-obnoxious and annoying, losers! Let's examine 5 examples, which demonstrate a whiner is never a winner.
1. While whiners blame and complain, winners learn from each experience, and improve the future: When a whiner is criticized, or opposed, he generally claims others are being mean to him, or unfair, or resorts to name-calling. On the other hand, a winner focuses on priorities, needs and concerns, creates a meaningful strategy, and develops a priority-based action plan, to address relevant issues, etc.
2. A whiner often accuses others of doing something he deems wrong, in order to displace personal responsibility, for his own improprieties. How can one take a serious look at this topic, without doing so, as it relates to this year's Presidential candidates? The presumptive candidate for one of the major parties continuously and constantly calls his political opponents a variety of disparaging names, creating sound-bytes, for terms like, Crooked, Lying, etc. As if this behavior isn't inappropriate enough, political fact-checking sites, have stated he has resorted to many more mis-truths, than any other candidate, making false statements about three-quarters of the time. Then, he whines about it, when anyone else points out anything in his record, which may be less than flattering, even if its true!
3. One says what others want to hear, while the other tells you what you need to know and understand: Beware of any candidate who blames others, or complains, without introducing a solution-based approach, to achieve results. Beware of overly simplistic, populist statements, because leading is about creating the best results, and not about merely telling people what you think they want to hear!
4. Whiners make excuses to avoid any personal blame/responsibility, while winners create strategies and plans, to bring about viable solutions: We all make mistakes, etc. If someone refuses to ever admit an error, etc, he either never did anything productive, is thin-skinned, refuses to address reality, or doesn't truly know what's happening.
5. A whiner is generally myopic (short-sighted), while a winner looks at the bigger, and more sustainable future: Don't put a band-aid on a hemorrhage! Rather, address current, immediate needs and concerns, in a manner which addresses today's woes, while doing so, with an eye on the mission, vision, and sustainability of the organization.
Who would rather have as a leader, a whiner, or a winner? Look beyond the often-empty rhetoric, and support the winners, who will make a relevant, sustainable difference for the better!
